The Omnia Art Prize is one of Australia’s premier art awards for contemporary art

Since 1971, artists and art enthusiasts have been coming together to celebrate art at St Kevin’s College in Toorak.

Excitingly, this year heralds a new chapter for the much-loved event as we announce a new name, ‘Omnia Art Prize’ and increase the major non-acquisitive prize to $15,000. Attracting high calibre artists who are vying for a combined prize pool of $19,500—the Omnia Art Prize is regarded as one of the top art awards in Australia.

This event (formerly the St Kevin’s Art Show) was founded by Audrey Culliver, a St Kevin’s College parent and arts advocate to help landscape and still life painters showcase their work to new audiences.

Over its 52-year history, the exhibition has grown in size and artistic excellence, but money raised continues to support the important charitable work of the St Kevin’s College Foundation.

The Omnia Art Prize welcomes established and emerging artists from around the country to submit up to three contemporary works of art.

The final selection of around 200 works—paintings, drawings, photographs, printmaking, and mixed media—are displayed in a contemporary exhibition space enhanced by an on-site café and live music. Happily for attendees, all exhibited artworks are available for sale, helping to make contemporary art more accessible to more people.

Each year, a well-known artist is invited to headline the event and a guest judge is invited to award the top art prizes.
